Rey Cordova

ACTOR – DIRECTOR – THEATER PRACTITIONER

Rey Cordova is an actor, director, and writer from Southern California currently enrolled in the University of California: Santa Cruz, and will be granted a B.A. in Theater Arts (2019). Some noteworthy roles he has played include Henry Reyna, Zoot Suit directed by Kinan Valdez, Dr. Joseph Cardin, The Children’s Hour directed by Danny Scheie, and Elliot Ortiz, Water by the Spoonful directed by Ciera Eis. He is a student representative for the Theater Arts department on the Arts Dean’s Leadership Board and is interested in the creation of community through the arts. His devised project, Appropriating Shakespeare, aimed to subvert Shakespeare’s power in the theater, and allow his texts to represent an ensemble of performers of color, rather than the latter. Rey Cordova is dedicated to representation for POC, and social justice through the arts.
